Allyson's First days...

Our first weeks with Allyson have been full of ups and downs. These days we are having more ups than downs which is wonderful. She is growing more and more every day. Some of the early days were hard because she was losing more weight than she should. So we are having to wake her up every two hours no matter what time (even 1, 3, and 5 am) to feed her. The problem was not the waking but that she would not go back to sleep after we woke her. So we would wake her at 1 and well then she would be up till 3 and then we would start the process all over again. Thankfully after two full weeks of this she gained weight!!! We were all happy. Since then we have been feeding her every 3 hours during the day and then on demand at night. She has slept as long as 5 hours at once and as little as 2 min :) at a time. The night she slept 5 hours Justin and I woke up so worried that something was wrong. We couldn't believe it. So we both ran in her room to make sure she was ok, and she was sleeping away. We didn't believe it though so we had to wake her up and feed her again. Most nights she is sleeping 4 hours at a time. Like I said though, most nights :). We are loving her more and more every day. Thankfully we have the entire summer to enjoy this time with her. I hope you enjoy the video. It is our first of many.

Meet Allyson Lillie Meyer

Allyson was born on Thursday, April 23 at 6:33 pm. The delivery went great and she came into this world full of hair and crying. We knew she was fine right away because she just started crying. We came home from the hospital on Saturday and since then she has been learning more and more about her new life. We have been learning right along with her. It is amazing how much Justin and I have learned in just one week. It was great! It really is trial and error with her. If it doesn't work we just try the next thing we can think of. If it does work we try to remember what we did so we can do the same thing next time.
Allyson is the cutest baby we have ever seen. Of course we can say that, b/c we are her very proud parents :). She makes the funniest faces and it even seems like she is trying to give us a smile every once in a while. She is eating great and a lot. The doctors are a little worried about her weight so we go back to the doctor on Tuesday to check it out. I will be very surprised if she has not gained weight. Like I said she loves to eat.
We promise to keep you updated with pictures. Thank you so much for your support, prayers, and love throughout the pregnancy. We know have the most beautiful baby girl.
