Ally's first trip to Butler

So we couldn't resist taking her to Indianapolis to visit more friends and of course Butler University. Butler holds a special place in both of our hearts because this is where we went to school and meet. It is definitely one of our favorite places on earth. Here are some pictures we took at Holcomb Gardens and around Butler.

Indiana friends and family

   Uncle Neal
Aunt Katie
The Meyer Family
The Meyer Kids
Our friends Adam and Gina's little boy Colin and Allyson. What a cute couple :)
After our stop in Louisville we got back in the car and headed to Brookville, IN.  This trip was only 2 1/2 hours which is perfect napping time so we were not as worried about this trip. It was hard to leave Louisville, but we were excited to take Allyson to meet her Aunt Katie and Uncle Neal. We also got to introduce her to many friends. Justin and I joked during the trip that we have changed who we hang with these days. We decided we like the 3 and under crowd now. Neither of us are ready for the 4 and up group yet, even though I taught Kindergarten for two years we are still not ready for that. Just give us a few more years. Here are some pictures of her Indiana family and friends.

Meeting Great Grandmother Lillie

Allyson got to meet her Great Grandmother this past weekend. It was so exciting for both of them. This was our first time traveling as a family and we were very nervous. When I say family I mean Justin, me, dog Anna, and Allyson. It made stopping for lunch interesting, but it worked out great. Our little Allyson did great. This was hopefully the beginning of many car trips she will make. Here are a few pictures of our stop in Louisville.

Smiling is the best

So Allyson has learned a few new things including smiling and sucking her thumb. We are so excited about both. The smiling is the best because we look at her and she smiles back. WOW!!! She has the most beautiful smile too. She has even been smiling more at Grandma too. Her thumb is her new favorite thing. She spends a long time trying to get it in her mouth but once she does she is so happy. Sometimes she gets it in her mouth the first time, but other times it takes 2 or 3 tries. The thumb sucking also helps us because she is able to sleep longer and put herself to sleep. I couldn't believe it last night I put her to bed with her eyes wide open and I didn't hear a sound from her. Of course I had to go check on her and she had fallen asleep. I couldn't believe it.

We also celebrated Father's Day this week. It was a great day. It started with one of Justin's favorites strawberry waffles with wipe cream. Then we headed to church and tried the church nursery for the first time. Our little angle slept the entire time, from Sunday school to big church. All of the nursery workers were all very disappointed. We told them not to worry we will be back. The rest of the day was full of relaxation and time together. It was a blast.

This week we also had a chance to get together with some of my high school friends. I am so lucky to have such great friends. It has been a blast to go to each others weddings and watch our families grow. We have another wedding coming up in September. We can't wait. Thank you for everything, I love you all.

Here are a few pictures from this past week.

Mamaw and Grandpa visit

We had a great visit with Mamaw and Grandpa from Indiana. The visit was centered around Allyson so we stayed close to home and made it out a little each day. Allyson got to do what her Mamaw loves to do, shop a lot. Here are a few pictures from the visit.

4 wonderful years

It is pretty crazy but this past Thursday Justin and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. Our wedding day was one of the happiest and most specials days of our lives and it is hard to believe it has been four years. One of our favorite things to do during this time is it look at our pictures and reflect on the wedding and the past four years. We came to the conclusion that they have been wonderful and we can't wait for many more to come.
To celebrate our anniversary we got to go on TWO date nights!! It was wonderful!!! Justin's parents are in town and they did a little babysitting for us. We appreciate it so much. During our date nights we went to see the movies Hungover and Away We Go. As you can see it was one his choice and one my choice. Both of the movies are great, but they are totally different. One of them I was crying because of laughter and the other because of reality. I recommend them both.
One more  year down and many more to come.

Ally mat time

Here is Ally on her mat. Everyday we try to give her some "mat time." She really seems to like it too so that makes it easy for us. I really think you will like this video because you will see her beautiful smile!
